WELCOME TO ESPORTS
Woodson ISD is proud to now offer eSports to our students!
Students in grades 7-12 can now engage in competitive gameplay against other schools across the nation. These games, referred to as eSports, provide students with opportunities to develop healthy gaming habits as well as learn the value of leaving a positive digital footprint in an online world. As online gaming continues to boom, eSports at the Middle School and High School levels create engagement for students as well as assist them with developing skills that will help them balance physical exercise, social interactions, and their digital identity.
League of Legends
League of Legends is a fast-paced, multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game which requires players to strategize to knock down enemy towers. Players assume the role of a summoner and use the special abilities of their “champions” to outsmart their opponents. League of Legends is one of the most popular esports titles in the world.
Rocket League
Rocket League is a sports-action hit that combines soccer with driving in an unbelievable physics-based multiplayer-game. The main competitive mode pits two teams of three players against one-another in a head-to-head matchup to see who score the most goals in a five minute match.
High School eSports
ESports is a growing population of competitive online gameplay, but its more than just playing video games. It's networking, socializing, and creativity all in one!
